As you may know, Leanún was founded by three of us; Éadaoin, Ciara and Kate. We were all born and raised in Cork, Ireland! Even though two of us are currently living in North America, we feel very strongly about being an Irish brand.

On St Patrick’s Day, we felt like it might be a good day to tell you a bit more about how we came up with the name ‘Leanún’.

Leanún is a shortened version of the Irish word ‘leanúnach’ which means to continue, to keep moving or to progress. Progress is an ideal which we wanted to keep central to the brand of Leanún. We want all our products to help make your life easier so you can focus on making progress in the areas of your life which you are passionate about. We aim to create products which help women become more productive so they can spend more time becoming the best versions of themselves. This in turn, can only benefit society as a whole!

Some may say these are lofty goals for a stationery brand but we feel it’s important that our business has purpose and substance, as well as beautiful design. We would love to hear your feedback on our brand name and whether you had any inclination as to the meaning behind it? Oh and, Happy St Patrick’s Day!
